POLICY CHANGE FOR ENTERING THE JUNIOR GRAND PRIX CHAMPIONSHIP
Boys' 12 and under: 240 points total and 2 tournaments within
division
Boys' 14 and under: 240 points total and 2 tournaments within division
Boys' 16 and under: 210 points total and 2 tournaments within division
Boys' 18 and under: 180 points only
Girls' 12 and under: 210 points total and 2 tournaments within division
Girls' 15 and under: 180 points total and 2 tournaments within division
Girls' 18 and under: 120 points only
(ALL TOTAL POINTS ABOVE CAN BE EARNED WITHIN EACH AGE DIVISION OR BY "PLAYING
UP")
The addition of requiring players to enter more tournaments at the younger divisions ensures that participants in the Junior Grand Prix championship at each specific level, are active players in those divisions. This makes is fair for all players not "playing up" to have a chance within their own age division. It isn't fair for a player to play in the Boys' 18s all year and then play the Boys' 14s championship after not playing at that level all year.

NEW "PLAYING UP" POLICY FOR PLAYERS PLAYING IN OLDER AGE DIVISIONS
Playing in older age divisions (playing “up”) – any players playing “up” will be allowed to have their best 2 “higher age tournaments” count in all younger eligible age divisions. Those tournaments will count towards the maximum amount of events to be counted for the season-end point totals. NOTE: a player must play in, at least, 2 regular season tournaments at the age division that he/she wishes to play in the Junior Grand Prix Championship.
